The Black Mamba, the world’s fastest snake is the inspiration behind Maxmillian Riedel’s striking new serpentine-shaped decanter, the Mamba. As wine gurgles through the voluptuous glass’ every bend, it is double-decanted. A coiled base creates a series of air pockets that “charge” wine towards the neck upon pouring.

From the Chivas Brothers archive of the finest high-aged whiskies, Royal Salute, Master Blender Colin Scott has selected a rare, prestige blend to craft Tribute to Honour. An ode to the oldest crown jewels of the British Isles, Tribute to Honour is available in only 21 stunning bottles set in silver and gold and bejeweled with white and black diamonds by royal jeweler Garrard. So far, Scott is the only man to have tasted this special blend; one can be snagged for $200,000.
Aged for nearly three years, the Ornellaia 2008 is a supple blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. A classic expression of the DOC Bolgheri Superiore region, this Ornellaia is intesne and depp with tobacco notes, hints of Mediterranean herbs and a long finish.
