American Cancer Society Hosts 35th Annual Gala

On October 15th, suppliers, distributors, retailers, restaurateurs and other members of the wine and spirits industry gathered at New York’s Pierre Hotel for the 35th annual Wine & Spirits Gala to benefit the American Cancer Society. This year’s dinner honored David Taub, chairman & CEO of Palm Bay International, and Marc Taub, president & COO, as recipients of the 2012 Dr. Louis Berger Memorial Award. Marc noted in his speech that in 1978, at the first Wine & Spirits Industry’s Gala, Martin Taub, father and grandfather to David and Marc respectively, received the inaugural award. Significant monies were raised throughout the evening to fund cancer research, education, advocacy, and direct services & programs for cancer patients and their families.
