Frederick Wildman and Sons is now the national importer for Bodega Luigi Bosca, wines of Mendoza, Argentina, as of January 2013. The addition of this reputed winery to the Wildman group blends perfectly with the remainder of its expansive family-driven portfolio, well-known amongst the trade and wine enthusiasts throughout the US, and often referred to as “The Oval of Quality”.
“We are delighted to enhance our Argentine portfolio with such a respected bodega”, said Wildman CEO Richard Cacciato. “Wildman’s expertise and success in the Argentine wine business dates back to the early 90s when Argentina was barely a known category,” added Cacciato. “We are well positioned with the knowledge and dynamism to take on this property of impeccable heritage to greater success throughout the United States.”
Rocco Lombardo, COO of Frederick Wildman and Sons states, “Luigi Bosca has been present in some parts of United States for some years now, however, our expertise and partnership with our national distributors will allow us to extend this relationship and reach nationally.” Alberto Arizu, Bodega Luigi Bosca’s owner and a fourth-generation family member, added, “We are thrilled and excited about our collaboration with Frederick Wildman and Sons,” Arizu continued, “this is our number one market outside of Argentina, hence, very important to us on all levels. The association with Wildman’s network of distributors throughout the United States will allow us to provide even more service to our customers in the future.”
Established in 1901 by Leoncio Arizu, Bodega Luigi Bosca is the oldest continuously family-owned winery in Mendoza. The Luigi Bosca portfolio includes, Finca La Linda, Luigi Bosca Reserva, Luigi Bosca Malbec DOC (the first DOC Malbec from Argentina) and a range of Icon wines.
