Superstorm Sandy hit New Jersey like no other storm before, devastating communities and destroying homes and businesses. As the New Year arrives, we New Jerseyeans are determined to rebuild our homes, businesses and communities. The positive part of what happened is the new respect we have for each other, as well as a bond that will forever tie us together.
Now is the time to look forward and be positive about 2013 and what it will bring. Many restaurants have now opened and hopefully more will by St. Patrick’s Day or Memorial Day. Unfortunately, there are several that may never re-open, and that is a loss to all of us and the hospitality industry
The NJRA has many challenges ahead that my board, staff and I look forward to working together on: pending legislation, continued rebuilding and growing our membership as well as expanding opportunities and benefits to our members. As we move forward, I am confident there will be a new and revived energy in both the NJRA and the restaurant industry in New Jersey.
Last month we hosted an information session at the Hospitality House, bringing federal and state agencies face to face with our members. We hope to continue this form of communication so our members can get specific, realtime information about the recovery opportunities for restaurants. This is open to everyone!
Please call our offices for more information 800-848-6368 or visit our website at www.njra.org.
My very best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
