You asked, we listened! I’m happy to announce some new member benefits that we have just added.

NJRA members can now receive:

Up to 20% off music licensing fees through BMI
Accounting and wage/hour advice from Citrin Cooperman, and
500 free email messages from Fishbowl Email Marketing.

Also, as the reality of the Affordable Care Act gets closer, we want you to stay informed. Because your NJRA membership entitles you to membership with the National Restaurant Association as well, we are now able to offer you a downloadable booklet entitled Health Care Law Primer. Please visit www.restaurant.org/healthcare for the download and other informative content.

If you have ideas of a benefit you’d like to see, please contact Allyson at aobrien@njra.org.

Staying Storng at the Shore with #STTSdeals

I want to make you aware of a new program just implemented by the state’s Stronger than the Storm (STTS) campaign to help businesses up and down the Jersey Shore. Starting immediately, businesses that use the Twitter hashtag #STTSdeals when tweeting their special promotions will also have their offers included in Stronger than the Shore’s official feed.

Stronger than the Storm has large and active Twitter and Facebook communities, numbering in the tens of thousands and growing daily. By using the #STTSdeals hashtag, businesses can gain valuable exposure to these followers, who are already inclined to be visiting the Jersey Shore this summer. With social media becoming more important than ever in influencing where and how people choose to dine out, taking advantage of #STTSdeals means more exposure and more customers for your business.

Visit www.strongerthanthestorm.com/promotesmallbusiness for more information on #STTSdeals and how to use the hashtag. If you have any questions, please email info@strongerthanthestorm.com.

Cooking Up Good News in Trenton

The NJRA recently participated in two unique events at the Governor’s residence in Trenton. The Drumthwacket Foundation’s Annual Gala kicked off the summer on June 19th and included 11 NJRA Member Restaurants offering tastings to event guests. The chefs were welcomed by the Governor and First Lady and networked with patrons for an evening of entertainment, raising money for the foundation, which aims to allow underprivileged children take field trips to the mansion and explore the property.

We also sponsored the NJ Seafood Challenge on June 20th where Chef Chris Albrecht of NJRA Member Restaurant EnoTerra won. He will now go on to compete in the Great American Seafood Cookoff in New Orleans and will host his first “trial run” tasting here at our office, the “Hospitality House,” in July.

Important: SPOTS LIMITED FOR FREE SERVSAFE CLASSES! I can’t encourage you enough to take advantage of this great member benefit we are able to offer you through a grant from the NJ Department of Labor. Please have your FEIN number ready and call Alicia at 800-848-6368 if you are interested in hosting a class or registering your employees. A list of current classes can be found at the NJRA.org website under Calendar and Seminars.
