Bombay Sapphire Most Imaginative Bartender Search Wraps Up

In late August, Christian Sanders of Evelyn Drinkery was selected as the New York finalist in Bombay Sapphire’s Search for the Most Imaginative Bartender for his Far East Cocktail.

Far East Cocktail
1.5 oz Bombay Sapphire
.5 oz absinthe
.75 oz pineapple puree
.5 oz garam masala syrup
.75 oz lime
2 dashes bitter end
 Moroccan bitters
.5 oz egg white
3 sage leave

Inspiration: Inspiration
came from the gin itself
and the botanicals that make
up such a beautiful spirit.

 Sanders and other regional winners traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the finals of the Bombay Sapphire & USBG Most Imaginative Bartender competition. The national winner was Julio Cabrera of Miami’s Regent Cocktail Club and Fifty Lounge at the Viceroy Hotel for the Ganesha cocktail.


2 oz Bombay Sapphire Gin
0.75 oz Grapefruit-Masala
 Syrup (homemade)
0.75 oz Fresh squeezed
 Lemon Juice
1 bar spoon Martini
 Dry Vermouth
Elderflower Espuma (homemade)
3 drops of Mumbai Bitters

In a previously chilled
 cocktail shaker pour:
2 oz Bombay Sapphire Gin
0.75 oz Grapefruit-Masala
 Syrup (homemade)
0.75 oz fresh squeezed
 Lemon Juice
1 bar spoon Martini
 Dry Vermouth

Shake well with ice
and serve strained into
a cocktail glass
