On January 13th, Woodford Reserve and Esquire selected the latest Master of the Manhattan at the fifth annual Manhattan Experience, held in New York City. After a 30-city tour, six finalists competed for the coveted title. Judges David Wondrich, Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Chris Morris and 2013 winner Travis Fourmont chose Virginia King’s “Looking at Me Like You Don’t Want Me to Go” as the winner.
Looking At Me Like You Don’t Want Me To Go Manhattan
1 ½ oz. Woodford Reserve bourbon
½ oz. Benedictine
¾ oz. Carpano
1 dash Angostura bitters
2 dashes cherry bark vanilla bitters
1 infused “dirty” cherry, for garnish
1 lemon twist, for garnish
In a mixing glass, add all ingredients.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Garnish with the infused cherry.
Squeeze lemon twist over drink
