NJRA Events & Opportunities
On March 3rd from 11:30am-2:30pm, we are hosting our Women in Foodservice Reception to honor the female professionals who have made an impact in the hospitality industry. During the reception, NJRA staff and board members will dedicate a plaque at the Hospitality House in honor of the beloved former NJRA President, Deborah Roy Dowdell, who led the Association for over two decades. Tickets are $50 per person and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Women in Foodservice Scholarship Fund. Contact our Events Coordinator Lucie at email@example.com for more information.
NJRA will once again host its annual Restaurant Operator’s Conference on Monday, April 7th at the Pines Manor. This event is open to members and non-members(but industry only). Come and watch New Jersey’s new upcoming chefs compete for “Hot New Chef of the Year,” our annual Mixology competition and participate in a Blind Wine Tasting while sampling from many vendors. We will also have representatives from the Departments of Labor, Health and Alcohol Beverage Control to answer your questions. To register visit njra.org or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
‘Paint the Town Pink’
Meridian Health has expanded its “Paint the Town Pink” campaign to include over 25 New Jersey towns. The goal is to encourage women in the community, aged 40 and older, to have their annual mammogram; and to raise money to provide for underserved women in our community. There are many opportunities to participate at little or no cost. Quite a few restaurants have incorporated the PINK theme into a menu item, for example. If you are interested in becoming a PINK partner visit paintthetownpink.com.
