On November 3rd at Blue Smoke, Pama Pomegranate Liqueur celebrated Pamela Wiznitzer of The Dead Rabbit as this year’s “Bar Stars” honoree, recognizing the next generation of craft cocktail bartenders. Pamela was saluted alongside her mentor, Julie Reiner of Clover Club, and her own mentee Mimi Burnham of Smart Olive Consulting. The women and Blue Smoke Beverage Director Mike Shain showcased stress-free holiday cocktails.
Two Cocktails by Pamela Wiznitzer, ‘Bar Stars’ Honoree
Romping in Gotham
1/2 oz. PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
1 1/2 oz. Rittenhouse Rye
3/4 oz. Punt e Mes
3/4 oz. sweet vermouth
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
2 dashes absinthe
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir and garnish with expressed orange oils. Discard the peel.
Garnet of Delight
3/4 oz. PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
1 1/4 oz. Louis Royer “Force 53” VSOP Cognac
1 1/2 oz. half and half
1/2 oz. demerara syrup
1/2 oz. crème de cacao blanc
3 dashes Bittermens Burlesque Bitters
3 dashes mole bitters
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Shake and serve up in a wine glass. Garnish with freshly grated dark cacao shavings.
