Rum Diplomatico Crowns New U.S. Ambassador in NYC

Nick Meyer of Brilliantshine Santa Monica was named the winner of the U.S. Finals of the Diplomatico World Tournament on January 13th in NYC with his cocktail “Chimpin’ Ain’t Easy.” Meyer will represent the U.S. at the Diplomatico World Tournament Final in Venezuela in April, where bartenders from 28 countries will compete to be Diplomatico World Ambassador. Competitors had to make a cocktail using any of the Rum Diplomatico expressions, and cocktails were judged based on presentation, taste, originality and technique.

.75 oz fresh lime juice
.75 oz Housemade Macadamia Piloncillo Syrup
.75 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth
.5 oz Diplomático Anejo
1.5 oz Housemade Banana Phosphate

Method: Served on crushed ice with a metal straw
