A scant 685 bottles were made, but in selecting a single cask of Tawny Port and coming to the U.S. to present it personally, George Sandeman (7th generation) made a big statement on the venerable Port house’s 225th anniversary. The “Cask 33” he presented at a trade/media dinner at The Modern fulfilled its star billing, but the Sandeman 40-year-old Tawny served with a foie gras terrine was a show-stopper.
