Despite some late summer showers, members of the trade and media gathered for an elegant dinner at the New Museum in the Chinatown section of Manhattan to be among the first to sample Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky, the newest expression from Beam Suntory. Suntory Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo led guests through the history of Suntory and the Hibiki brand, a tasting of the five styles of whisky that are blended to make the new whisky, as well as a tasting of Harmony itself. Chef David Bouley and Chef Isao Yamada prepared a meal incorporating Hibiki.
