Southern Wine & Spirits Trade Day Tasting Highlights the Grand Event
The eighth annual Food Network/Cooking Channel NYC Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE once again paid homage to one of the greatest dining cities in the world by bringing together the world’s greatest chefs, winemakers, spirits producers and personalities to educate palates and entertain attendees in high style. The four-day festival (Oct 15th – 18th) featured over 100 incredible, star-studded events from large format walk-around tastings, to sophisticated brunches, lunches, cocktail parties, late-night soirées, and intimate dinner experiences with world-renowned chefs, and wine and spirits pairings. The most important aspect, however, was the outcome. With over 55,000 attendees, 183 sponsors, 150 NYCWFF team members, and over 3,000 volunteers, the event raised over $1 million for their charities, Food Bank For NYC and No Kid Hungry®.
“Southern Wine & Spirits of NY is once again honored to be the exclusive wine and spirits partner of this incredible event. This partnership allows our supplier partners the gold standard integrated marketing platform to expose their exceptional wine and spirits brands to 55,000 attendees consisting of celebrities, award-winning chefs, sports icons, trendsetters, industry movers and shakers, restaurant and retail professionals and their clients, and passionate consumers from around the globe while supporting and maintaining Southern Wine & Spirits’ corporate and social core mission commitment of giving back,” said Rosalinda Secondini, Director of Special Events for Southern Wine & Spirits of NY.
And, indeed they successfully did. Throughout the entire weekend including Friday’s Southern Wine & Spirits of New York Trade Day Tasting presented by Beverage Media Group at Pier 94, suppliers had the exclusive opportunity to showcase their brands to 7,000 restaurant owners, managers, beverage directors, sommeliers, retail owners, trade media, and other hospitality industry professionals in one place. “We are extremely grateful and proud of our supplier sponsors who generously stepped it up this year in every way possible to create our best show yet,” continued Secondini. “Their generous participation and sponsorship made the difference in the quality and successful outcome of this year’s festival.”
