The Beer Wholesalers Association of New Jersey announced the appointment of Michael I. Halfacre as Executive Director. Halfacre will succeed Robert J. Pinard, who has been Executive Director since 1992.
Halfacre, 49, of Fair Haven, is an attorney with 25 years of experience. He previously served as the Director of the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Prior to being appointed Director by Governor Chris Christie, Halfacre owned his own law practice, where he specialized in transaction work, including real estate and alcoholic beverage license transfers. In addition, he served as municipal prosecutor and municipal attorney in several Monmouth County municipalities, where he prosecuted drunk drivers, underage persons in possession of alcohol and the adults who provided alcohol to underage persons. Halfacre also served as Mayor of Fair Haven. Currently, Mr. Halfacre serves as Of Counsel to the law firm of Genova Burns.
