Philadelphia Distilling has
appointed
Aidan Demarest
as portfolio brand ambassador.
Los Angeles-based Demar-
est owns Neat spirits bar in
Glendale, CA and is a part-
ner in Tello/Demarest-Liquid
Assets consulting. Demarest’s
primary responsibilities are to
build enthusiasm on the west
coast for Philadelphia Dis-
tilling brands Bluecoat Gin,
Vieux Carre Absinthe, XXX
Shine Whiskey and The Bay
Seasoned Vodka, with public-
ity, marketing activation and
portfolio exposure.
MYX BEVERAGE LLC
Industry veteran
Michael
Sylvester
has joined Myx
Beverage LLC as Vice Presi-
dent, National Sales Manager.
Sylvester was most recently
VP of Sales East Division for
Warsteiner Importers Agency.
In his new role, he oversees the
national roll-out of Myx Fusions
moscato-based beverage brand
partnered with pop star Nicki
Minaj. At Warsteiner Import-
ers Agency, Inc., his tenure saw
considerable sales increases and
a boost in profitability for the
Warsteiner and Konig Ludwig
brands. Before joiningWarstein-
er, he held sales positions at The
Gambrinus Company, Brown-
Forman Beverages Worldwide,
Molson Breweries, USA and
Universal Brands.
CIVB
The Conseil Interprofessionel
du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB)
recently elected
Bernard
Farges
as President for a
three year term. Farges is a
48 year-old winemaker who
works across over 90 hectares
in Bordeaux appellations. He
previously headed the AOC
Bordeaux and Bordeaux
Supérieur organizations. He
replaces négotiant Georges
Haushalter, in keeping with
CIVB rules for the presidency
which state that the post must
alternate between growers
and négociants. Allan Sichel,
President of the Négociants
Union is VP of CIVB.
COL SOLARE
Ste. Michelle Wine Estates
and Marchesi Antinori, joint
venture partners for winer-
ies in California and Wash-
ington State, have promoted
Darel Allwine
to winemaker
for Washington’s Col Solare.
Most recently, Allwine was cel-
larmaster for Col Solare. Since
2003, he has worked closely
with Marcus Notaro, the previ-
ous winemaker at Col Solare,
and Renzo Cotarella, chief
enologist for Antinori to craft
the estate’s Cabernet Sauvi-
gnon-based wines.

FEUILLATTE
Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte
has appointed
Olivier Zorel
as
export manager for North and
South America. Zorel brings
over 15 years experience in
sales and marketing in the
international wine industry. He
is based in Chouilly, France,
reporting to Julie Campos,
Director of Sales globally for
Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.

The Plenary of the Control
Board of the D.O.Ca. Rioja
chose
Luis Alberto Lecea
as
the new President of the Con-
trol Board of D.O.Ca. and the
Rioja Wine Interprofessional
Organization and the Plenary
Board. Mr. Lecea is a repre-
sentative of the agricultural
organization ASAJA and the
first grape grower to chair the
Control Board since the Des-
ignation of Origin for Rioja
was created in 1925.
WILSON DANIELS
Lisa Cleaver
has been appointed
VP, Spirits and New Brand
Development for Wilson
Daniels’ newly created Spirits
and Brand Development
Division. With the company
for the past seven years, she was
most recently VP, Marketing and
Brand Management. In her new
role, she oversees the innovation
and market momentum of the
craft spirits division.
VOLI
Voli Vodka has appointed
Jorge Gutierrez
as CEO.
He has over two decades of
experience in the beverage
alcohol industry, including
executive positions at Whyte
& Mackay, Roberto Cavalli
Vodka and Bacardi. Gutierrez
oversees the in-house sales
and marketing operation. The
national sales team is now
headed by recently-named
EVP National Sales Director
Lee Strader, who brings
more than 30 years industry
experience to his role. Voli
has also selected Park Street
to provide importing, back-
office and enterprise resource
planning services.
